At least 14 people were shot, including two who were killed, late Saturday night near downtown Montgomery, Alabama, police said.
The victims include several teenagers, with seven under the age of 17; the two fatalities were identified as 17-year-old Jeremiah Morris and 43-year-old Sholanda Williams.
Police believe the gunfire began after a targeted individual returned fire, sparking chaos as others in the crowd also opened fire.
Five victims remain hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and no arrests have been made, ABC News has reported.
Montgomery’s mayor called the incident a preventable dispute and announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the shooters’ capture.
