After a months-long manhunt, authorities captured Derrick Groves — the last of 10 inmates who escaped a New Orleans jail in May — hiding in a crawl space beneath an Atlanta home.
Groves, 28, had been convicted of murder and was considered the most dangerous of the escapees, prompting a $50,000 reward for his capture.
A SWAT team spent hours searching the house, using gas before a police dog located him; video showed Groves smiling as officers led him away.
Louisiana officials said several people who helped him evade capture may face charges, and Groves will appear in a Georgia court Thursday for extradition proceedings, the Associated Press has reported.
Police also found a gun and 15 pounds of marijuana inside the home, which sits near Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.
