Shooting at packed South Carolina bar kills 4 and injures at least 20 others

A mass shooting early Sunday at Willie’s Bar and Grill on St. Helena Island, South Carolina — home to the nation’s largest Gullah community — left four people dead and at least 20 injured.

The attack occurred during a crowded high school alumni event, sending patrons fleeing in panic as gunfire erupted outside the bar.

Four victims remain in critical condition, and authorities have not yet released any names.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office described the incident as “tragic and difficult,” asking for patience as the investigation continues, the Associated Press has reported.
