Thousands gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday night to celebrate the anticipated release of hostages held by Hamas, chanting “Thank you, Trump” and booing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The rally featured speeches by former U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, joined by Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, who helped broker the U.S.-coordinated peace deal to end the Gaza conflict.
Under the agreement, Hamas is expected to release the remaining 48 hostages in exchange for Israel freeing around 1,950 Palestinian detainees and prisoners.
Many in the crowd blamed Netanyahu for prolonging the war and delaying the hostage deal, accusing him of putting his political survival ahead of their release, the Telegraph has reported.
Witkoff and Kushner praised Israel’s resilience and military, while Ivanka Trump called the deal a “triumph of faith, courage, and shared humanity.”
