2 dead after plane crashes into 18-wheeler in fiery explosion

A plane crashed near Hicks Airfield in Tarrant County, Texas, on Sunday, killing two people after colliding with an 18-wheeler and multiple trailers before bursting into flames.

Surveillance footage shows the aircraft crashing nose-first, sliding along the pavement, and becoming vertical as it ignited, sending thick smoke visible for miles.

Authorities have contained the fire, but the victims have not been identified, and it is unclear if anyone else was injured.

The FAA is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash, the New York Post has reported.

The incident follows a helicopter crash in Huntington Beach, California, a day earlier, which injured five people, including the pilot, stuntman Eric Nixon.
