Bryan Fredrick Jennings, convicted of raping and murdering 6-year-old Rebecca Kunash in 1979, is scheduled for execution by lethal injection in Florida on November 13.
Governor Ron DeSantis signed the death warrant, continuing a record pace of executions in 2025, with Jennings becoming the 16th person set for execution this year.
Jennings was convicted of murder, kidnapping, and sexual battery and sentenced to death in 1986 after two prior convictions were overturned.
Attorneys for Jennings are expected to appeal to the Florida Supreme Court and U.S. Supreme Court, the Associated Press has reported.
Florida has led the nation in executions this year, surpassing the previous single-year record of eight set in 2014.
