Multiple water rescues initiated in Buckeye, as heavy rain sweeps across Arizona

On October 12, Buckeye, Arizona, fire crews conducted multiple water rescues following heavy weekend rainfall, saving four people in two separate incidents.

In one rescue, an adult stranded about 100 feet from fast-moving water near Old US80 and Patterson Road was airlifted to safety with help from a sheriff’s helicopter.

Shortly after, three people trapped in a vehicle near Tuthill and Clara Vista were rescued using a ladder truck.

No injuries were reported in either incident, Fox 10 Phoenix has reported.

Officials emphasized the dangers of floodwaters, warning that just 12 inches of swift-moving water can carry a vehicle and urging the public to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”
