Former Presidents Joe Biden and Bill Clinton publicly praised President Donald Trump on Monday for brokering the Gaza peace deal between Israel and Hamas.
Biden said he was “deeply grateful and relieved” that the last hostages had been freed, crediting Trump and his team for helping secure the renewed ceasefire.
Clinton echoed that sentiment, thanking Trump, Qatar, and other regional actors for keeping negotiations on track and calling for lasting peace in the region.
Trump responded by thanking Clinton and reminiscing about their past friendship, noting that both Clintons attended his wedding, Axios has reported.
Former President Obama also welcomed the ceasefire last week but did not mention Trump by name, prompting the White House to highlight Trump’s role in the agreement.
