NASA confirms Earth now has two moons until 2083

NASA has confirmed the discovery of a new “quasi-moon” named 2025 PN7, a small asteroid that travels almost perfectly in sync with Earth around the Sun.

Detected by the University of Hawaii, the rock measures about 18 to 36 meters wide and follows a path that makes it appear to shadow our planet without being gravitationally bound to it.

Scientists believe 2025 PN7 has been accompanying Earth for about 60 years and will likely stay until 2083 before drifting away, Geek Spin has reported.

It’s one of only eight known quasi-moons, offering researchers valuable insight into near-Earth asteroid behavior and orbital dynamics.
