A pardoned Capitol rioter, Christopher Moynihan, was arrested last weekend for allegedly threatening to kill House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries in New York City.
Court documents say Moynihan sent texts stating he planned to “eliminate” Jeffries and later entered a not guilty plea to a felony charge of making a terroristic threat.
Moynihan, who was pardoned by former President Trump after participating in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and serving prison time, was among the first to breach police barricades and enter the Senate chamber, CBS News has reported.
Jeffries condemned the threat, emphasizing that violence would not stop him from speaking out, while authorities continue to review the case.
