US kills 14 alleged drug traffickers in strikes on 4 boats in Eastern Pacific, Hegseth announces

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced that U.S. forces struck four suspected drug vessels in the Eastern Pacific, killing 14 alleged narco‑terrorists and wounding or capturing one survivor.

He said all strikes occurred in international waters, no U.S. personnel were harmed, and the operations were carried out at President Trump’s direction against designated terrorist organizations trafficking narcotics.

Hegseth gave a breakdown of the incidents—8 killed in the first strike, 4 in the second, and 3 in the third—and said USSOUTHCOM activated search-and-rescue protocols, with Mexican authorities taking responsibility for the survivor.

He warned the Department will treat narco‑terrorists like other terrorist threats, asserting they have killed more Americans than al‑Qaeda and vowing to track and eliminate them, Fox News has reported.

Officials also noted dozens of suspected traffickers have been killed since Sept. 2, including a prior strike in the Caribbean that killed six members of Tren de Aragua.
