JD Vance calls for reduction in legal immigration at Turning Point event

Vice President JD Vance called for a major reduction in legal immigration during a speech at the University of Mississippi, saying the U.S. must “get the overall numbers way, way down” to preserve social cohesion.

Speaking at a Turning Point USA event hosted by Erika Kirk, widow of the group’s slain founder, Vance argued that American society needs time to assimilate newcomers before admitting more immigrants.

He also defended President Trump’s use of executive power and military actions abroad, dismissing concerns about political overreach, the AP has reported.

Erika Kirk urged students to continue her late husband’s mission to strengthen conservative influence on college campuses.
