Trump visits South Korea as he attempts to secure billions in investment

President Donald Trump met Wednesday with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung in Gyeongju, wrapping up his Asia tour focused on securing major investment deals.

Trump praised South Korea as a valued ally and said a new trade agreement between the two nations would soon be finalized, following similar deals with Japan and Malaysia.

Lee asked the U.S. to ease restrictions on fuel for nuclear-powered submarines, while Trump touted what he called an “economic revolution” and predicted up to $22 trillion in new U.S. investments, Fox News has reported.

The visit came amid renewed North Korean missile activity and ahead of Trump’s scheduled meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
