Nineteen people were hospitalized Sunday night after a bus overturned near Running Springs, California, about 70 miles east of Los Angeles.

Of the 36 passengers aboard, which included adults and teenagers, most sustained minor injuries, while three were seriously hurt.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol responded to the incident, the AP has reported.

Authorities closed the highway in both directions during the investigation.
