A Sudanese medical group has accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of attempting to hide evidence of mass killings in Darfur by burning bodies or burying them in mass graves.
The Sudan Doctors Network said RSF forces are collecting “hundreds of bodies” in el-Fasher following their takeover of the city on October 26, calling the violence part of a broader campaign of genocide.
The International Organization for Migration estimates that 82,000 of el-Fasher’s 260,000 residents have fled, while many remain trapped amid reports of killings, rape, and torture.
Some fleeing residents died en route due to lack of food, water, or gunfire injuries, Al-Jazeera has reported.
Survivors reported learning of relatives’ deaths from social media videos posted by RSF fighters, highlighting the extreme violence in the city.
