President Trump approves plan for peace between Russia and Ukraine

President Trump approved a 28-point peace plan for Russia and Ukraine, developed by his advisers, including Steve Witkoff, JD Vance, Marco Rubio, and Jared Kushner, though Ukraine was not involved in drafting it.

The plan reportedly aims to provide security guarantees and durable peace, but Kyiv has only been briefed on its broad contours and sees its timing amid a Ukrainian corruption scandal as potentially opportunistic for Russia.

A U.S. delegation led by Army Secretary Dan Driscoll arrived in Kyiv to discuss military strategy and support reviving peace talks, amid ongoing Russian missile and drone attacks targeting energy and civilian infrastructure.

Russia has continued heavy strikes across Ukraine, killing civilians, damaging residential buildings, and forcing emergency power cuts ahead of winter, NBC News has reported.

Ukrainian leaders, including President Zelenskyy, have called for increased Western pressure and military aid to defend the country and counter Russian aggression.
