US woman behind Slender Man stabbing is missing after leaving group home

Morgan Geyser, who admitted to stabbing a classmate in 2014 to please the fictional online character Slender Man, is missing after cutting off her electronic monitoring device and leaving a Wisconsin group home.

Authorities said she was last seen Saturday evening with an adult acquaintance and urged anyone who spots her to call 911.

Geyser, now 23, had been placed in the group home after conditional release from a psychiatric institute, where she had been committed following a guilty plea to attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

The 2014 attack involved Geyser and her friend Anissa Weier, then 12, luring and stabbing classmate Payton Leutner, who survived the attack, The Guardian has reported.

Both girls claimed they acted to serve Slender Man, a fictional online figure, and Weier was also sent to a psychiatric center before her release in 2021.
