Democrats release Epstein Island photos as Maxwell argues against release of grand jury transcripts

House Oversight Committee Democrats released over 150 images and more than a dozen short videos of Jeffrey Epstein’s Virgin Islands estate, capturing rooms, the coastline, a helipad, and other property features, though no people appear in the material.

The release coincided with Ghislaine Maxwell’s attorneys arguing against unsealing grand jury materials in her criminal case, citing potential prejudice to a fair retrial despite her exhausted direct appeals.

Republicans criticized the Democrats for selectively releasing materials already partially public, noting the committee holds thousands more documents from banks and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The images include notable items like a dentist chair, a blackboard with redacted words, a framed photo of Epstein and Maxwell with Pope John Paul II, and Epstein’s boat, “Little C,” ABC News has reported.

Maxwell, serving a 20-year sentence for aiding Epstein’s abuse, and the DOJ have both cited concerns about releasing sensitive records that could affect her potential habeas petition or a new trial under the recently enacted Epstein Transparency Act.
