A GOP-led Pennsylvania legislative committee has issued subpoenas seeking records on roughly $1 million in security upgrades to Gov. Josh Shapiro’s private home, as well as information on charter flights taken earlier this year.

The move follows an April arson attack on the governor’s official residence, which prompted police and security experts to recommend increased protections.

Shapiro’s office called the investigation a partisan attack, saying it has already shared substantial information without compromising safety measures.

Republicans argue that taxpayer-funded security spending must be transparent, while Democrats label the probe a political “fishing expedition,” ABC News has reported.

The subpoenas require state police, local officials, and a charter flight company to produce documents by Jan. 16, 2026.
