JPMorgan Chase fell 4.7% after projecting higher expenses next year, while Toll Brothers dropped 2.4% on weaker-than-expected quarterly results amid soft housing demand.
Treasury yields rose after a report showed U.S. job openings at 7.7 million, fueling speculation the Fed may limit future rate cuts, the AP has reported.
Elsewhere, Exxon Mobil, Ares Management, and CVS Health climbed on strong forecasts, while Nvidia and Home Depot edged lower; global markets were mixed, with Hong Kong and Paris down.
