A 47-year-old man was killed after being struck by a snowplow at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. in a parking lot near Terminal 2 used by the catering company LSG Sky Chefs, during light snow and temperatures in the upper 20s.
The victim’s identity has not been released, and the Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
The crash contributed to delays for over 200 flights at the airport, ABC News has reported.
In response to the weather, Minneapolis declared a snow emergency Wednesday at 9 p.m., banning certain street parking to aid plow operations and emergency access.
