2 dead, 9 injured at Brown University, person of interest in custody

A shooting at Brown University on Saturday, Dec. 13, has left at least two people dead and nine injured, with most victims confirmed as students.

The university remains on lockdown as the male suspect, described as wearing dark clothing and possibly in his 30s, is still at large.

Providence police released a video showing the suspect walking down Hope Street after the attack.

The university issued a campus-wide alert urging students and staff to run, hide, and fight if necessary during the active shooter situation, Providence Journal has reported.

Officials, including former President Donald Trump, have expressed condolences to the victims and their families.
