Rob Reiner and wife found dead in apparent homicide at California home

Director and actor Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, 68, were found dead Sunday afternoon in their Brentwood home, and authorities are investigating the case as an apparent homicide.

Los Angeles Fire Department responders discovered the couple around 3:30 p.m., and the Reiner family later confirmed their deaths, asking for privacy.

The LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division is leading the investigation, with no forced entry reported and no suspect or cause of death publicly confirmed, though some media outlets have cited unverified details.

Police sealed off the neighborhood as investigators processed the scene and increased patrols as a precaution, the San Francisco Chronicle has reported.

Reiner, whose career spanned five decades and included films such as “The Princess Bride” and “When Harry Met Sally…,” is survived by three children; the investigation remains ongoing.
