Nick Reiner has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the deaths of his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner.

The couple was found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, Dec. 14, after authorities and firefighters responded to a medical call, and they were reportedly discovered by their daughter Romy.

Police said Nick Reiner is being held without bail and was booked on murder charges following questioning by the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division.

Rob and Michele Reiner had been married since 1989 and shared three children, with Nick having previously spoken publicly about struggles with addiction and homelessness, People Magazine has reported.

In a statement, the Reiner family expressed profound sorrow over the sudden loss and requested privacy during the difficult time.
