Nick Reiner made his first court appearance Wednesday after being charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
He did not enter a plea, and his arraignment was continued until Jan. 7.
The couple, aged 78 and 68, were found dead Sunday in their Brentwood, Los Angeles home, with the preliminary cause of death listed as “multiple sharp force injuries.”
Nick Reiner was arrested the same night and is being held without bail; the charges carry a potential sentence of life in prison or the death penalty, Yahoo News has reported.
Authorities have not disclosed evidence or a motive, and the district attorney has not decided whether to seek the death penalty.
