EngineAI, a Shenzhen-based robotics startup founded in 2023, has unveiled the T800, an acrobatic humanoid robot designed for industrial applications.
Standing 1.73 m tall and weighing 75 kg, the T800 is built from lightweight magnesium-aluminum alloy, features 29 degrees of freedom, and can perform high-intensity tasks, including martial arts-style kicks, without overheating thanks to advanced cooling and a modular battery.
Its 360° LiDAR and AI-powered computing allow it to navigate complex environments quickly, while its hands can manipulate objects up to 5 kg, though fine motor tasks like folding towels are yet to be demonstrated.
Initially aimed at industrial settings, the robot is expected to handle repetitive tasks such as component assembly, with mass production beginning soon and first units shipping by mid-2026, New Atlas has reported.
The company has secured strong financial backing of over 1 billion yuan (approximately $142 million), signaling high confidence in the T800’s potential amid competition from Tesla’s Optimus and Boston Dynamics’ Atlas.
