Six ISIL fighters and three Turkish police officers were killed in a shootout during a raid in northwest Turkey’s Yalova province.
The Turkish Interior Ministry said security forces conducted 108 overnight raids across 13 provinces targeting ISIL hideouts.
The raid in Elmalik village involved an exchange of fire, leaving eight police officers and one night watchman wounded.
Five women and six children were safely evacuated from the targeted home during the operation, Al-Jazeera has reported.
Authorities imposed security measures, restricted access to the area, and temporarily suspended classes at nearby schools.
