Russia Claims Ukraine Attacked Putin Residence With 91 Drones

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed that Ukraine launched a drone attack on President Vladimir Putin’s state residence in Russia’s Novgorod region, warning it could affect peace negotiations.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected the allegation as a falsehood, accusing Moscow of fabricating claims to avoid ending the war.

The accusation emerged as U.S. President Donald Trump expressed optimism about peace talks after meeting Zelensky, while saying he disliked the alleged attack, which Putin reportedly mentioned in a call.

Lavrov said Russian air defenses destroyed 91 drones with no casualties or damage, but warned that retaliatory strikes had been planned, Newsweek has reported.

While Russia said it would continue negotiations with the United States, Lavrov indicated Moscow would revise its negotiating stance, accusing Kyiv of “state terrorism.”
