Explosions occurred over less than 30 minutes, causing power outages at military installations and in parts of the city, though traffic continued and residents shared reports on social media.
President Nicolás Maduro declared a state of external disturbance, ordered national defense plans activated, and called supporters to mobilize in the streets, the AP has reported.
The blasts come amid heightened U.S.-Venezuela tensions, recent U.S. military actions against alleged drug-smuggling operations, and broader regional military escalation.
