Venezuela’s acting president Delcy Rodríguez accused Israel of orchestrating the U.S. operation that led to the capture of former leader Nicolás Maduro.
Speaking in a televised address, she claimed the arrest had a “Zionist character,” offering no evidence and repeating rhetoric long used by Venezuela’s leadership.
Rodríguez insisted Maduro remains Venezuela’s only legitimate president, despite his transfer to U.S. custody and a court ruling naming her interim leader.
Her remarks highlighted continued uncertainty over power in Venezuela, even as she appeared alongside top government and military officials to project unity, the Yeshiva World News has reported.
Israeli officials did not immediately respond to the accusations.
