Trump warns ‘sick’ South American leader, reiterates ‘we need Greenland’ for national security

President Trump on Sunday criticized Colombian President Gustavo Petro, accusing him of running cocaine operations and suggesting the U.S. might take action in Colombia.

He also renewed his interest in acquiring Greenland, citing national security reasons, claiming Denmark “cannot” manage the territory.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen sharply rebuked Trump, stressing Greenland is part of NATO and is not for sale.

Leaders from Finland, Norway, and Denmark reaffirmed support for Greenland’s sovereignty, emphasizing its future should be decided by Greenland and Denmark alone, Fox News has reported.

Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen called Trump’s remarks “deeply disrespectful” and condemned any talk of annexation or threats.
