UK, France strike new Ukraine security pact

The U.K. and France signed a declaration committing troops to Ukraine under a future peace deal, with security guarantees backed by the U.S. and allied partners.

Adopted in Paris by the Coalition of the Willing, the agreement outlines a framework for lasting peace grounded in international law and the U.N. Charter.

It affirms that Ukraine’s sovereignty and right to self-defense are non-negotiable and critical to European security.

The plan calls for a European-led multinational force to deploy after a ceasefire to deter Russian aggression and help rebuild Ukraine’s military, alongside U.S.-supported monitoring and enforcement mechanisms, Fox News has reported.

Coalition members also pledged long-term military, diplomatic, and economic support, and announced a permanent U.S.-Ukraine-Coalition coordination cell in Paris.
