ICE agent shoots & kills protester in Minneapolis after alleged vehicle ramming

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Macklin Good in Minneapolis during a federal immigration operation, an incident officials said was self-defense but city leaders criticized as unnecessary.

Macklin Good was shot in the head in a residential neighborhood south of downtown, with the killing captured on bystander video and witnessed by a family member.

Videos show ICE officers confronting her stopped SUV before she drove forward, at which point an officer fired multiple shots at close range.

The shooting sparked protests and a vigil, as well as conflicting accounts from federal officials, the mayor, and witnesses about whether the officer was in immediate danger, the AP has reported.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and President Donald Trump defended the officer’s actions, while family members said Macklin Good was a mother, writer, and recent arrival to Minnesota.
