Two people were killed and six others injured in a shooting outside a funeral at a Salt Lake City LDS chapel on Wednesday evening.

Police said the shooting occurred after an altercation in the parking lot during the service, and an active manhunt is underway with no suspects in custody.

Of the surviving victims, three are in critical condition and three are in unknown condition.

Authorities are still investigating whether there was a single shooter or multiple suspects, ABC News has reported.

The LDS Church expressed prayers and concern over the violence at a sacred space intended for worship.
