A prison disturbance in northern Georgia on Sunday left three inmates dead and 12 others injured, along with one guard.

The fight broke out during visitation hours at Washington State Prison in Davisboro, authorities said.

Washington County Sheriff reported multiple major fights occurred during the incident.

The Georgia Department of Corrections confirmed the facility was secured and all inmates were accounted for, CBS News has reported.

Officials have not released details on the cause of the fights or the condition of the injured.
