The Israeli army carried out multiple airstrikes on southern Lebanon after issuing evacuation warnings, killing one person, according to Lebanese authorities.
Israel said it targeted a Hezbollah militant and infrastructure in response to what it described as repeated ceasefire violations.
The strikes came despite Lebanon’s announcement that it had completed the first phase of disarming Hezbollah south of the Litani River, a move Israel says is insufficient.
Lebanese media reported widespread damage from more than 10 strikes across several towns, many located north of the Litani, France 24 has reported.
Israel has continued regular attacks and maintains troops in parts of southern Lebanon despite a November 2024 ceasefire intended to end more than a year of fighting.
