President Donald Trump demanded on Truth Social that FBI Director Kash Patel remove agents allegedly involved in the Arctic Frost investigation, which targeted him, Republican organizations, and elected officials.
The probe, originally focused on January 6, 2021, expanded under former FBI official Timothy Thibault, who circulated left-leaning news and podcast content to justify scrutiny of Trump and his associates.
Internal emails and memos show Thibault pushed to make Trump a formal subject and widened the investigation to include GOP groups like the RNC and Turning Point USA.
Kash Patel later confirmed extensive surveillance on eight Republican senators and one congressman, disbanded the CR-15 unit, and removed the agents involved, Breitbart News has reported.
Critics, including Sen. Josh Hawley, called the operation an abuse of power threatening constitutional rights, while Thibault’s history of political bias had previously drawn scrutiny.
