A U-Haul truck drove into a crowd at an anti-Iranian regime rally in Los Angeles on Sunday, though two people evaluated at the scene declined treatment.
The incident occurred in the Westwood neighborhood, prompting the closure of a 405 Freeway ramp, with the FBI working with LAPD to investigate the driver’s motive.
The rally coincides with ongoing protests in Iran, where more than 500 people, including protesters and security forces, have reportedly died according to U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency.
Over 10,600 arrests have been made, and demonstrations have spread across all 31 provinces of Iran, ABC News has reported.
The protests, sparked in late December by rising inflation and a falling currency, have increasingly taken an anti-government tone.
