Minnesota protesters, agents repeatedly square off while prosecutors quit after Renee Good’s death

Federal officers in Minneapolis used tear gas and eye irritants Tuesday during ongoing confrontations with activists, following the fatal shooting of Renee Good by an immigration agent.

The incident, which occurred six days earlier, has sparked protests across the city, including school walkouts in suburban areas to oppose the Trump administration’s immigration sweeps.

At least five prosecutors resigned from the local U.S. Attorney’s Office amid controversy over the Justice Department’s handling of the investigation, though officials said there is no basis for a criminal civil rights probe.

Protesters have confronted federal agents in unmarked vehicles and outside a federal building, the AP has reported.
