Timothy Busfield, founder of Sacramento’s B Street Theatre, accused of child sex abuse

Emmy-winning actor and B Street Theatre founder Timothy Busfield turned himself in to authorities in New Mexico after an arrest warrant was issued over allegations of child sex abuse.

He is currently in custody in Albuquerque, facing two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor under 13 and one count of child abuse.

The Bernalillo County District Attorney’s office plans to seek to keep Busfield detained pending trial, though a judge will decide his pretrial status.

The alleged incidents reportedly took place on the set of the TV series The Cleaning Lady, which Busfield directed and acted in, CBS News has reported.

Busfield has denied the allegations, calling them false in statements from his lawyer and a video to TMZ.
