Man killed, 3 bystanders hurt in shooting at iconic New Orleans restaurant

A man was killed and three bystanders were injured in a shooting at the foyer of Dooky Chase’s Restaurant in New Orleans, authorities said, with the gunman still at large.

The incident occurred Friday evening after the target, a young man, was chased down the street and ran into the restaurant to escape.

Three women—two tourists from Los Angeles and one from Florida—were struck by gunfire; one suffered severe injuries requiring multiple surgeries, another is now stable, and the third was treated and released.

Police believe the shooting was retaliatory and are seeking information, offering a $13,500 reward, ABC News has reported.

The Dooky Chase family emphasized their commitment to the community, noting the historic restaurant’s legacy as a cultural and political gathering place.
