OpenAI CFO says annualized revenue crosses $20 billion in 2025

OpenAI’s annualized revenue surpassed $20 billion in 2025, up from $6 billion in 2024, driven by a tripling of computing capacity to 1.9 gigawatts, CFO Sarah Friar said.

The company’s weekly and daily active users continue to hit record highs, and it recently began showing ads in ChatGPT to boost revenue.

OpenAI plans to release its first device in the second half of 2026, according to policy chief Chris Lehane.

The platform spans text, images, voice, code, and APIs, with the next phase focusing on AI agents and workflow automation that maintain context and act across tools, Reuters has reported.

In 2026, the company will prioritize practical adoption in health, science, and enterprise while maintaining a “light” balance sheet through partnerships and flexible hardware contracts.
