Five people have been arrested in connection with a shooting at the Indiana home of Judge Steven Meyer and his wife, Kimberly, who were injured but are now in stable condition.
The suspects, from Indiana and Kentucky, face charges ranging from attempted murder and aggravated battery to obstruction of justice, following a multi-state investigation.
Police said the attack occurred after someone knocked on the couple’s door, claiming “we have your dog,” before shots were fired.
Chief Justice Loretta Rush and local authorities emphasized heightened security and the importance of protecting judges and their families, CBS News has reported.
The Meyers expressed gratitude for community support, law enforcement efforts, and medical care, reaffirming their faith in the judicial system.
