President Trump’s Greenland ambitions became a viral meme after the White House posted an AI-generated image of him walking with a penguin.

The meme references the “Nihilist Penguin,” but critics, including former Canadian Defense Minister Jason Kenney, highlighted factual errors and Trump’s recent confusion between Greenland and Iceland.

The White House defended the post, saying “The penguin does not concern himself with the opinions of those who cannot comprehend.”

Trump had earlier backtracked on a threat to seize Greenland by military force but said he reached a framework deal with NATO on Arctic security and mineral rights, The Hill has reported.

Greenland’s leaders maintain the island is not for sale and stress that any agreement must respect their territorial integrity and international law.
