The heaviest snowfall in the U.S. occurred at Bonito Lake, New Mexico, with 31 inches recorded.
East of the Mississippi, Napanoch, New York, saw the highest total at 30 inches, about 80 miles northwest of New York City.
The reported figures are a mix of official and unofficial measurements and are still subject to verification by the National Weather Service, the New York Times has reported.
Many other states also recorded snowfall totals exceeding a foot, highlighting the storm’s widespread impact.
