A Russian drone strike hit a passenger train in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region on Tuesday, killing five people, according to prosecutors.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack as terrorism, saying there was no possible military justification for striking a civilian train carrying more than 200 passengers.
The train, traveling from western Ukraine toward Barvinkove, was struck by one drone, while two others hit nearby areas, setting carriages on fire.
Zelenskyy said the attack undermined ongoing diplomatic efforts and urged allies to increase pressure on Moscow, The Guardian has reported.
Elsewhere, a separate wave of more than 50 Russian drones killed three people and injured over 30 in the southern port city of Odesa.
