Clintons agree to testify after House threatens contempt in Jeffrey Epstein probe

Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have agreed to testify in the House Oversight Committee’s Jeffrey Epstein investigation, after lawmakers considered holding them in criminal contempt.

The committee accused the Clintons of “trying to dodge contempt by requesting special treatment,” while their deputy chief of staff said they will appear and set a precedent that applies to everyone.

Their attorneys confirmed they would testify on terms set by Chairman James Comer, though Comer said the agreement still lacked clarity and deposition dates.

The Clintons’ decision led the House to temporarily pause contempt proceedings, delaying action by the Rules Committee, Fox News has reported.

Democrats noted that Comer has not pursued similar measures against others who missed deadlines or failed to provide documents in the Epstein investigation.
