Fulton County officials in Georgia have filed a motion seeking the return of 2020 election materials seized last week by the FBI, including ballots, tabulator tapes, electronic ballot images, and voter rolls.
The motion, currently under seal, also asks the court to block federal authorities from using or reviewing the materials while the request is pending.
The FBI search took place on January 28 at the county’s main election facility in Union City, near Atlanta, and focused on records related to the 2020 general election.
Fulton County leaders defended their election practices, noting the county has conducted 17 elections since 2020 without issue, Fox News has reported.
The seizure has drawn scrutiny amid ongoing claims by former President Trump and allies about alleged voter fraud in Georgia.
