A ransom note was sent to an Arizona news station following the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, Pima County authorities said.
The note contained specific details about Nancy Guthrie’s home and what she was wearing the night she went missing, though officials have not confirmed its accuracy.
Investigators, including the FBI, are treating the note seriously and continue searching for Nancy, who was last seen Saturday night and has critical daily medication needs.
Surveillance footage from her home has yielded no leads, possibly due to automatic deletion, and a small amount of blood was found inside and outside the residence, CBS News has reported.
Authorities have not determined how many people may be involved in the apparent abduction.
