US news anchor Savannah Guthrie and her family have issued a video plea for the safe return of their mother, Nancy Guthrie, who disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona home last weekend.

Authorities believe Nancy was taken against her will, and early evidence shows her doorbell camera and pacemaker app were disabled in the early hours of Sunday, February 1.

The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward and investigating potential ransom demands, reportedly in cryptocurrency, while the family has said Nancy urgently needs her medication.

No suspects or vehicles have been identified, though one individual was arrested in connection with a fake ransom note, the BBC has reported.

Savannah Guthrie, a co-anchor on NBC’s Today, emphasized that the family wants confirmation that Nancy is alive and is appealing directly to the kidnappers to ensure her safe return.
